Yesterday AATT played live at Christuskirche in Bochum (Ruhr Area in Germany). The first part of the concert consisted of songs of the 2007 album ?(Listen For) The Rag And Bone Man?. I think they performed all songs in the same order as on the CD but I?m not absolutely sure. They started with ?Domed? (a great opener) followed by ?The Beautiful Silence?. A short while later they played ?The Legend Of Mucklow? and ?A Man With A Drum? was on of the last songs of this part of the show.

The set list of the first part (perhaps not absolutely correct):

    Domed

    The Beautiful Silence

    Rive Droite

    Mary of the Woods

    The Way The Land Lies

    The Legend of Mucklow

    Untitled

    Candace

Stay Away From The Accordion Girl

    The Saracen's Head

    On This Day

    A Man With A Drum

    Under The Stars

After a break of 15 minutes they were back for the second part of the concert consisting of the complete 1986 album ?Virus Meadow?. The eight songs were in the same order known from the original album.

The set list of the second part:

    Slow Pulse Boy

Maps In Her Wrists And Arms

    The Dwelling Place

    Vincent Craine

    Jack

    The Headless Clay Woman

    Gone... Like The Swallows

    Virus Meadow

The second part was great. I was a little bit surprised that I was most impressed of ?Maps In Her Wrists And Arms? and ?Vincent Craine? because the performance of his two songs was absolutely brilliant.

    First encore

    Dialogue

    Feeling Fine

    Shaletown

    Last encore

    Mermen Of The Lea

    A Room Lives In Lucy

The sound was very good and I Think they played louder than last year. The length of more or less two hours is okay. It was a great show in an unusual venue. As far as I know this church is in regular use. In the beginning the crowd sat in the church benches but after the break some started to move to the front. To my opinion ?Slow Pulse Boy? ? the opener of the second part ? suffered a little from this situation. The sound, mood and atmosphere differed a lot from other concert venues like pubs, clubs und halls but It was a very good experience. Because of this and the unusual song selection ? only songs from two albums in the regular set ? it is difficult to compare it with other shows. Last year I saw AATT at a club (Zeche) in Bochum and it was completely different although both shows were very impressive.

I do agree to most of what Stevi wrote, especially about the venue.
The problem with the sound in a venue like that is that it is full of reverbs. The sound was good if you were placed somewhere in the middle, but if you left the middle, it sounded like in a washing-mashine or through a wall of water, if you know what I mean.

Primaliry, I did not want to post the setlist before all shows were played - there should be room for surprises. But now that Stevi posted it here, I think it's helpful to point out that they did not play LFTRABM in its entirety. So the setlist was as follows:

    Domed
    The Beautiful Silence
    Under The Stars
    A Man With A Drum
    The Legend Of Mucklow
    The Saracen's Head
    Candace
    Mary Of The Woods
    Rive droite
    ---
    Slow Pulse Boy
Maps In Her Wrists And Arms
    The Dwelling Place
    Vincent Craine
    Jack
    The Headless Clay Woman
    Gone... Like The Swallows
    Virus Meadow
    ----
    Dialogue
    Feeling Fine
    Shaletown
    ---
    Mermen Of The Lea
    A Room Lives In Lucy
    -------------------------

Be prepared for the very nice and surprising arrangement of "The Dwelling Place" !

Not only longer concert but also better than Liege... strange venue, and the sound "evolved", maybe because peoples slowly left their seats to stand up near the stage.... anyway, the feeling was there and that's the most important... 44th gig and I'm always taken by the magical mood of A.A.T.T.... waiting for a 45th now...
